Diana's favorite restaurant is Assaggi in Ferndale, on 9 mile road. Assaggi opened in the spring of 2000 with the intention of creating a casual, elegant bistro setting with a warm, friendly and welcoming atmosphere. The food at Assaggi Bistro is a mix of Rustic Italian and Country French with a touch of Lebanese. Diana has been going there for years and has never had a bad meal. She says their homemade bread is to die for and she loves their salads and braised short ribs.
The Rock City Eatery is another one of Diana's favorite spots. This restaurant was originally a 1,600-square-foot restaurant in Hamtramck. Due to popularity it has moved to a location twice as large on Woodward in Midtown. With the move the owners want to bring the urban rustic, rock ‘n’ roll feel of their Hamtramck stop to the new space.
Diana also enjoys going to the Selden Standard. The Selden Standard is a seasonal restaurant that provides delicious, rustic, fun food to their guests. The concept for Selden Standard is rustic and casual – come as you are – but with an ever-present eye for quality, creativity, and fun, an approach that got them named restaurant of the year in 2015 by the Detroit Free Press and in 2016 by Hour Detroit.
