Steven is the creator of SDS Media Designs. He has been creating one of a kind record art for the past five year. All of his record creations and accessories and made by hand, by Steven himself.
What inspired you to start creating your work? I was a wood-worker until I saw another artist that created album art. I looked at the designs and figured I could do better. What makes your work unique or distinctive? Every record is made on the original album and comes with the original album cover and every design is created by me.
What is your favorite part of the creative process?
When I'm cutting records, it is very calming and I enjoy seeing the look on people when they see my designs.
What do you like least about the business side or creating and selling art? The downside of this being a business is that I don't get out and see a lot of the reactions that I love too see.
Why did you decide to partner with Yellow Door? I find that Yellow Door is a very well maintained and promoted store. What do you like to do when you're not working? Spending time with my family.
Who are some of your favorite artists? Mark from Natural Wood Pens and fellow YD Artist, floral creator, 5 Petal Punch
What do you like to listen to? The bands that I create record art out of.
Any memorable places you've traveled to? Walk Disney World. I love going there because it reminds me of my childhood with my family.
